Let us pray: heavenly father, I thank you for all you do to help us through temptation. Please help us to stay in your word and use it to conger Satin and the evil he tries to get us to do. 

We know that our father is the source of our strength and ask that you not let us forget that. Lord, you know the individual things that tempt us, and we ask that you give us the strength to recognize it, leave it, and rely on your word to fight it. Thank you for being our ultimate teacher and giving us the grace and love to overcome all evil. Amen!

Forgive us for our lack of belief. For giving more authority to the shiny objects in the world than to the POWER of your RISEN SPIRIT that courses through our entire being. IGNITE our desire and ability to resurrect who we are in the FREEDOM you died to give us. Grant me the faith of Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego. Be my confidence as I go out into a world that is filled with idols of wood, gold, silver and clay. Help me resist the statues of the world that promise meaning and significance and yet suck the life right out of me, highjacking my identity and value, leaving me empty handed, longing for more. Help me to be quicker today than yesterday to run back to you when I fall prey to the lions of pride, selfishness and insecurity. Walk with me through the fire so that I don’t get burned up by the heat of my emotions when I don’t get what I want or think I deserve. Close the mouths of the lions that prowl around me trying to devour my sense of worth and value. I lack nothing in you. Resurrect a Daniel faith within me today moving forward so that  I believe IN, rely ON and TRUST in you alone more today than yesterday. Protect me from compliments and complaints that my heart would stay grounded in the mission for which it beats: to love and be loved by you, to declare to the world that you are the living God, enduring and steadfast forever! (Daniel 6:26).

Dear Lord I have the ability to set the entire course of my life on fire simply by a careless word fueled by a negative thought, conclusion or assumption about myself or another person. Forgive me Lord for allowing my tongue to direct the course of my life. Just like a small rudder on a boat, my tongue can run my entire ship into ruin. Override my negative thinking and words and remind my mind that in you I have the ability to speak LIFE into my inner dialogue and the lives of those entrusted to my care. Teach me how to tame my tongue so that every word that spills out of my mouth flows from your mind and heart. Help me to not let my tongue be the boss of me, I want to resurrect your power within me so that you become the boss of my thoughts and words. Fill my mind with all that is good, right, beautiful, excellent and praise worthy and make my words flow from this sanctuary of beauty.
