Edge God In Podcast 26: 3 Excuses That Edge God Out
Dear Lord, I give you permission to slow me down. Too often I am unwilling to edge you into my busy life, as if being busy makes me more important or purposeful. Teach me how to hear your invitation to draw near to you today. Override my agenda, to-do lists and pursuit to be enough and fill them with your presence Lord. Forgive me for every declined invitation I have sent back to you. Forgive me for putting things above my relationship with you and the people I love. I know your word does not return to you void but accomplishes the purpose for which it’s sent. If I am too busy you will use someone else to accomplish your will on earth. Wake me up to remember what I have learned during the storms in my life. Lord, where else do I need to go, for in you and with you I lack nothing. No more excuses, I choose you. Move me to draw closer to you today than yesterday.

Edge God In Podcast 24: A 3 Step Prison Break Part 1
Dear Lord, too often we experience identity theft that results in behavior and emotions that do not make you recognizable in this world. Forgive us for following the shiny objects that end up imprisoning us in the vicious cycle of asserting our will over your will, our thoughts over the Holy Scriptures and our emotions over the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and self-control. Break us free Lord from the sin that so easily entangles us and the yoke of slavery that restricts us in our small cocoon of fear, doubt and worry. We want to fly with you to the places you have prepared for us to go. Override our EGO, just as you did for Peter, Paul, Zacchaeus and Thomas and set us free from the prison of self: I, me, my.

Dear Lord, you allowed yourself to be interrupted for the sake of healing, encouragement, love, teachable moments and overall presence to those in need. Grant me the grace of the PAUSE to stop in the midst of all my doing and accomplishing to make myself present to those divine appointments that allow you to be recognizable in my ability to listen, love, heal and edify those people who cross my path today. I give you permission to override my EGO and ignite my desire to surrender my agenda for the sake of one soul who needs a word of encouragement, an act of kindness, the gift of love on their journey of life. You put people above things, over your to-do lists and between your travel itinerary, grant me the grace to do the same for the sake of salvation of souls, the one mission that unleashes eternity on earth.

Dear Lord, too often I am quick to speak and slow to hear. The power struggle edges out your calm patient responses and replaces my desire to enfold myself and others in the kind, patient and gentle love of your presence. I often find myself spinning around in negative judgments towards myself and others. Enter into my mind and shine the light of your peace into the crevices of darkness that harbor the serpents of slander, judgment and quarreling. Your grace is my salvation and saves me again and again from ungodly expressions that result from my need to be right, liked and understood which expresses itself in blaming, shaming and criticizing behavior. Nothing thrives in this state of war. Grant me the grace to step away from the power struggle that too often sabotages the relationships I care most about. More of you God and less of me. It is for freedom you have set me free help me to stand firm and not allow myself to be burdened by the yoke of slavery to the power struggle.

Edge God In Podcast Week 20: Releasing the Bondage – Open Up to God’s Plan for Your Life
In a previous podcast: Negativity Detox Step 2, we explored high noticing around those negative behaviors that block our ability to make God recognizable. This podcast will take it a step further by digging deeper into releasing and bringing awareness to any bondage you have, so that you can experience what God has for you.
“Start turning your focus on what he wants from us and not what we want from him”.
Learn:
What is Bondage? It is the state of being a slave. Being servitude or subjugation to a controlling person or force.
What is Spiritual Bondage? It is defined as being in bondage to sin. Two scriptures in the bible call our attention to this:
Spiritual bondage goes beyond demonic possessions because bondage occurs in anything that keeps us for living the life God has for us. We need to be mindful of 1 John 4:4; “Greater is He who lives inside of me than He who lives in the world”, knowing that we have the power to overcome anything!
Below are steps you can take to move into what he has promised using these scripture to release strongholds.
Reflect:
Identify & Integrate:
Get rid of Conviction Around Dark Deeds
Conviction is the thing that brought me to God in the first place by the feelings of “needing to get right with God.” Conviction of the Holy Spirit is what kept falling on me in the club.
Practice Repentance
Repentance is getting raw honest with God. Talking to him about what we’re feeling. Hiding nothing. Withholding nothing. Throwing our guts up before God and getting the whole rotten mess out before him. Repentance is how God cleanses the deepest places of our soul.
Teach ability
Having a teachable heart is vital for knowing God more, for keeping what we’ve already attained in him, and for actively engaging with God from day to day—even being used by him. Having a teachable disposition before God not only blesses him, it allows him to use us in greater measures.
Intercession
Intercession is living in a place of open dialogue with God for you and for others. Where conviction draws us to God, intercession keeps us before God. It positions him in the most prominent place for everything pertaining to life, to godliness, to his will and work in our lives, as well as his will and work in others.
Maintain:
Dear Lord, we come to you bolding asking that you find mercy and grace to help us in time of need. Grant us the release from any bondage or strongholds of the enemy so that we can be open to what you would have us do. Help us to be mindful that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil and all that commands powers of darkness so we own the victory not him. We have the heavenly intercession of the holy spirit, that answers our prayers and leads us to your perfect will. Today we rebuke any bondage we are suffering from and accept and open ourselves to the good works you have in store for us. Thank you for the opening and direction, in Jesus name … amen.

Dear Lord, you are the LIGHT of the world, I give you permission to override my below the line tendencies that project “lights off” rather than “lights ON” to the world around me. I know that I can’t give out what I haven’t mastered within my interior world. Open the eyes of my heart Lord to tune into those phrases and verses that pop out to me reminding me of an opportunity to identify and adjust my perceptions and behavior to more fully embrace and live out your will in my life. This invitation to detox my life from negativity is not for the faint hearted. Strengthen my weak knees so that I can unzip my old self and zip up my new self being renewed in the Holy Spirit with the gift of each new dawn. I want to be a city set on a hill and a light that outshines the darkness for you.

My ability to respond in a conscious Godly manner in the face of negative emotions is in direct proportion to my awareness around the truth that I am not another person’s emotional expressions. As I anchor my identity and beliefs in God, I am able to offer responses that validate, empathize and encourage the sender of the emotions. When I forget that I am safe and connected the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords I am vulnerable to defensive behavior which pushes people away and blocks healthy solutions. “1-Uping”, “You Should” and “At least” language will prevent a healthy flow of meaning between me and the sender of the emotions. Dear God, who will save me from my insecurities and self-doubt and fear? Thanks, be to God through Jesus Christ my Lord, I can give space for the Holy Spirit to anchor me in Christ’s confident, consistent loving kindness which will overflow into my emotional intelligence within relationships I encounter on my earth school journey.
